EMAIL UP DATE FROM CATHY'S EMAIL

Subject: Keep praying
News keeps getting better…KEEP PRAYING!!!

Ok, appt today with the Gynecological Oncologist, Dr. Munoz, he states it is ovarian cancer from looking at the Pet Scan. The good news is that it traveled to my colon and wrapped itself around it and caused me pain (severe) so that I went to the doctor and it was detected early for ovarian cancer. Usually there are no symptoms with ovarian cancer so when it is finally detected, it is too late.

Surgery is next week. Dr. Munoz would like it to be asap but he also needs to make sure that he AND the colon surgeon, Dr. Staniunas, can do this together and that makes for next week. I will know later today when it is exactly. He stated again (already knew ) it will be a tough surgery, complete abdominal hysterectomy (called it debulking) and then removing about 12 inches from my colon.

At that time he will send ovaries, etc to the pathology dept and they will know within 10 minutes if it is ovarian cancer. If cancer, then Dr. Munoz will insert a intraperitoneal catheter into my abdominal cavity and I will receive chemo directly on the source of the cancer.

…THEN Dr. Munoz did an exam and looked again at the pet scan. Given my age, he has stated that it may NOT be ovarian cancer and may be a mass (benign) growing. Surgery is still the same, BUT NO CHEMO…AND I DO NOT HAVE CANCER!!!

I will let you know when the surgery is as soon as I do.

Keep praying, it is working!

Urgent Prayer Request

This is concerning Cathy Trepte (Cartwright--Mary Cartwright's daughter)

Cathy had a colonoscopy and there is cancer in her ovaries and and cancer spread to the colon wrapped around the outside of it. The colon surgeon is estimating approximately 12 inches will still be removed from her colon and then full hysterectomy. She will also have chemo.

Mary was a frequent visitor to this site and prayed for the boys and she is hoping that we will all join her for daughter.... She believes that God is their only hope. Saints, let's take a stand for Cathy's full healing.

NEWS ON THE TREY:

Trey went to the orthodontist this week and was told he would be to put in braces for about 2 years. There is still a problem with his jaw not opening wide enough and his teeth not being aligned properly. Tyler saw the burn doctor yesterday. They will be using some gel pads in his shoulder area to try to get the skin to be a little more pliable. There is still a small spot on elbow that hasn't covered over, but should before too much longer.

Update on Dakota

I got an email from Leslie Franklin Sisneros giving us a report on her sister Laura and Laura's grandson Dakota. I told her I would post this on the website because several had ask if we had heard from Dakota and how he was doing. This is what Leslie said:

LAURA IS DOING REALLY WELL. SHE IS ACTUALLY TALKING TO HER FRIENDS ONLINE AGAIN. PRAISE GOD!!

DAKOTA STARTED RADIATION ON AUG. 25TH IN LUBBOCK !!!
MARTI (DAKOTA'S MOTHER) (MY NIECE) (LAURA'S DAUGHTER) SAYS 2 MORE DAYS LEFT OF RADIATION!!! WOOOHOOO!!! HIS COUNTS ARE SLOWLY RECOVERING ON THEIR OWN!!! PRAY FOR HIS COUNTS TO RECOVER MORE QUICKLY!!!

HE WILL BE GOING BACK ONCE A WEEK FOR COUNT CHECK AND THEN THE VISITS WILL GRADUALLY DECREASE. THANKS BE TO GOD!!! THAT WILL PUT HIM BACK IN REMISSION AND PRAY TO GOD HE STAYS THERE!!!

So this means that Dakota's radiation should be over for now and we are asking all of you to continue to pray for Dakota and his healing. We know God is able to do abundantly above all we ask or think. Praise His Name. Thank you Jesus.

A Testimony from Ronda

It has been over a year now that Cheney started having rectal bleeding several times a week. Everything was medically tended to along the way from blood work, "fun" (hahaha) mom-gets-to-do at home stool samples, x-rays, lots of Mirimax and Fletcher's "root beer medicine" as Cheney referred to it, lots of doctor visits, etc...Our pediatrician decided it was time to rule out all the bad stuff when he sent us to Dallas to the pediatric gastroenterologist specialist who did the colonoscopy on Cheney July 8th. He was 90% confident the test would reveal juvenile polyps, which it didn't and left us all puzzled as 5 of the 6 biopsies returned normal. The bleeding was so much worse after the colonoscopy due to the obvious invasion inside her little 3-year old body. The following Sunday, July 13th, we had an awesome prayer service at church. Trey and I both felt led to take Cheney down for prayer. She was annointed with oil and our body agreed in prayer as my incredible prayer warrior friend, Heather Waters, claimed God's healing power on Cheney. We all know that with God ALL things are possible and as I am typing this Cheney is listening to Trey's i-pod singing "Blessed be Your Name" at the top of her lungs; I am reminded of God's sovereign grace and that He does give and take away. We give Him all the glory and praise for by His stripes Cheney is healed in the name of Jesus. The following Thursday, July 17th, I was in the bathroom with Cheney when she victoriously exclaimed again as she had done everyday since Sunday "Yeah, mommy, still no blood" to which I replied "Yeah, who healed you Cheney?" She boldly stated "JESUS DID AND THAT MEDICINE AT CHURCH SURE DOES WORK GOOD!"
Yes, it does. We are so thankful for the body of Christ and our church family. Thank you to all of you who prayed for Cheney and our family. God is good and we pray His blessings upon all of you. Most of all YEAH JESUS--THANK YOU!! Cheney has been blood free for 8 weeks and she knows Why and Who did it.

Also, thank you for continuing to pray for Trey. For those of you who know Trey, you know how he is. He is an easy patient most of the time as he has never been a complainer or a whiner. His surgery went well yesterday. We are still waiting the results as his eyeball is still too sore to discover if the double vision disappeared, but with all of you praying, we know the answer to that, don't we? I was comforted by his surgeon who stated, "I will do my best and God will do the rest" right before they took Trey into the operating room. After returning to his recovery room, his nurse, Dwayne, laid hands on Trey and prayed aloud asking God to send his Holy Spirit to quickly heal Trey in the name of Jesus. God is always in the details and yesterday we felt His presence from beginning to end. Again, thank you for standing in the gap for us, God heard and delivered. We love you all.

One More thing, in reference to the previous post: We actually have 2 plates and 7 screws in our little souvenir cup as the Dr called it. hahaha. Trey is relieved to have those out as they were located in the corner of his right eye and bridge of nose area and it hurt to rub his eye.

Surgery update

Trey's surgery went well today. The Dr. said the eye surgery should help his vision and he felt good about it. The Doctors always comment that the boys seem to heal well. They removed 1 plate and 2 screws from the bridge of his nose. They gave those to Ronda and she will keep them for her memory box and probably add them to a scrap book.

The Thompsons again want to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support of the boys. God has answered our prayers and continues to bring Tyler and Trey back from the jaws of death and make them whole again.

Trey was dismissed and is spending the night with Kerry King in Lubbock and expects to come home tomorrow (Thursday). We pray for his full recovery.

Surgery Today for Trey

Most of you know that Trey is having surgery today to fix his eye and face. They are hoping that this will fix Trey's double vision and correct some other problems he has had since he has left the hospital... Please pray that all goes well and that there is perfect healing and little pain.

Those of us who have seen Trey have been amazed at how great he looks considering the massive injuries he sustained. I don't even notice the scars anymore but I believe this operation will not only help solve some problems but make him look even more like the Trey we all remember.

I have to say that through out this ordeal that I have been astounded by the ability of the human body to take such abuse. I never expected such fast and amazing recovery. I know the family would say that it doesn't feel fast but only 4 months ago both boys were horribly disfigured. I have to marvel at the human body that God made. God designed us all so wonderfully that we can be completely broken and near death and yet our bodies are programmed to heal, repair, and function again. Tyler was at church Sunday, and though I know he is uncomfortable a lot, he is a miracle. He is becoming more and more whole every week.

Trey will heal quickly too. We all know what to do. We are told to pray for those who are sick and hurting... Come on, friends, let's go to the Lord for Trey and his family today...
