Tyler has graduated from his home Rehab to going to rehab at the Knox City Hospital five days a week. His rehab therapist is Breanna Alexander Hostas originally from Munday. He has to be there by 9:00 each morning and he is there for about 2 and l/2 hours. She works on his shoulder about an hour with hot wax (ohhhh doesn't that sound good?? maybe he will let me fill in for him one day) to loosen the scar tissue in that arm. He rides the stationary bicycle for about an hour and also uses a machine kinda like a bicycle for his upper body. Tyler is doing good and improving each day but just so you know... There was nerve damage in his foot that was caught under the seat. The Drs. are hopeful because he has some feeling in that area but he still does not have full range of motion. They say with rehab he can possibly get it back in six months or so. He can bend his toes down but cannot bend them up. PLEASE PRAY THAT GOD WILL COMPLETELY HEAL THAT FOOT AND LEG. Tyler needs to get "back in the saddle".
Keep watching this blog...we will have another interview soon.

Tyler went to the Drs. in Lubbock yesterday and today. The burn Dr. was amazed at how quickly his grafts were healing. PRAISE GOD! He said the next time he comes to see him he will take the bandages off and put him in a compression vest similiar to the ones on his hands which Tyler should be able to take off and on by himself. This will make the grafted skin be smooth instead of rough and and he can take it off to get into the shower or bath. The last time he was at the Dr. they fitted him for a brace for his foot to hold his foot up and keep it from dropping due to nerve damage in his foot. He had to buy a new size 10 1/2 shoe to fit with the brace. All in all it was a good report. Tyler has been able to get out of the house some which has been great.
When they got home today Jan Searcy, Dottie Lowrey and Shirley Smith brought pizza. Tonya said again how wonderful it had been and how much it had helped them get through the hard days not to have to worry about cooking and grocery shopping. You have filled up the days until August 15th which was our goal. Thanks to all of you who helped. You have been a blessing and as Ronda always say..."Anglels with skin on."
Trey is doing better each day. He still tires easily but is out working some and getting back to normal. PRAISE GOD FOR THE PROGRESS. We pray they will be back to normal very soon.

Munday Teen Saves Two Brothers From Fiery Accident
Reported by: Katie Crosbie
Tuesday, Jul 22, 2008 @07:59pm CST
A Munday teenager is being hailed a hero -- after he escaped a fiery highway accident and pulled two brothers to safety. It's been about two months since the accident. It's been a long road to recovery, but they're all doing well. Seventeen-year-old Keith Cypert has known the Thompson brothers ever since he was seven -- and he works on their ranch. They say when an 18-wheeler didn't stop at a stop sign and crashed into them, Keith knew what to do. It's one of those things you never think will happen to you. “It happens so fast ... you just think, ‘Uh oh ... this is going to hurt,’” Trey Thompson said. “It was loud,” Keith Cypert said, “Real loud. Interview with Trey and Ronda
I thought it would be interesting to interview the Thompsons and see how they would answer a few questions about May 18th. A day that will be forever etched in our memory. I put together a few questions just to get them started.
1. Tell us in your words your thoughts about that Sunday afternoon, May 18, 2008.
Ronda: A day that forever changed our lives but we know that God makes beauty out of ashes. (Is. 61:3) He is Emmanuel...God with us. (More to come from Ronda)
Trey: Trey: The day didn't go as planned. I can remember everything that day until I hit my head. I knew we were going to hit the truck and I remember saying to myself, "this is not going to be good, it's going to hurt." I remember my arm breaking against the dash and then nothing for awhile. I remember laying in the ditch with Konnie Kuehler and telling her "Ronda, church, 4885." I didn't know the church's # before the wreck, Ronda says this was a miracle. I don't remember too many other details until they tried to get me to pee on my own. I am thankful we didn't let Tay (Taylor) go with us and that Keith was able to pull me and Tyler out, otherwise we wouldn't be here to answer these questions.
2. How did you get through those first few days?
Ronda: We were carried in the love and prayers of family and friends (angels with clothes on)
Trey: I was pretty much asleep.
3. Have you ever had any kind of trial that helped prepare you for this trial?
Ronda: Yes, I have experienced 2 major trials previously that all I could do was trust God to take care of it. He never leaves us or forsake us.
Trey: My whole life had prepared me.
4. How do you think God is involved in our every day struggles?
Ronda: He's walking with us...in us.
Trey: He's there all the time in everyday situations, all the time especially if we ask Him to be.
5. What verse or verses of scripture have you held on to.
Ronda: "He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it." Phil. 1:6 God gave that to me at the wreck site and I started to quote it. Also, Matt. 19:26 "With God all things are possible." We put that on the boys shirts when they went to Vail that first weekend to compete in the Ranch Rodeo and they won it! Praise God!
On the way to the wreck site I just kept saying Matt. 6:10 "Your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." When I got to Trey at the site: I prayed, "If God is for us, who can be against us. " Matt:8:13 "...it shall be done for you as you have believed". 1Peter 2:24 "By His stripes you are healed."
Trey: I just held onto everything I have heard and read.
6. What has been the hardest part of the past few weeks?
Ronda: At first it was really hard to be away from my girl; adjusting to Trey not being able to do "life"...because he's never been home so much and it was hard on him but a blessing to me. It was hard to see Trey not sleeping and being concerned about doing work that he thought he needed to do.
Trey: Leaving Tyler in Lubbock when I first came home
7. What has been the biggest blessing?
Ronda: All the Miraculous Healings. Getting to spend quality time with Trey. Being reunited with friends we hadn't seen in awhile.
Trey: Finding out how much people love us and finding out who our true friends are.
8. How do you think your life will be changed?
Ronda: I am more aware that every moment is a precious gift; don't sweat the small stuff.
Trey: I will appreciate my time here on earth. Not to take things for granted.
9. Have you ask WHY?
Ronda: Not why us God, but rather Lord show us your purpose.
Trey: No, because it doesn't really matter.
10. Could you express what it has meant to you for the Body of Christ to surround you?
Ronda: It is indescribable; absolutely humbling; "thank you" doesn't scratch the surface.
Trey: Humbling and Overwhelming.
Ronda: I truly learned from this experience the importance of hiding His Word in my heart. He provided Jehovah Jirah (my provider). He provided what I needed each and every step of the way. I felt God's peace that passes all understanding at the wreck site and knew everything was going to be fixed in HIS TIME!. Many of the Praise and Worship Songs that we know and sing were going through my head as well. Most of those songs are straight out of scripture. Three that come to mind are: "Blessed be His Name" Based on Job 1:21; "He Can Move Mountains", and Mighty To Save".
In the hospital I read Psalms 136, 138 and 139 almost daily to Trey
In Mark 11: 22 Jesus said, "Have faith in God constantly".

Update on Laura and Dakota
We have had several ask about an update on Dakota and Laura. I got this email from Leslie yesterday.
Just want you all to know that Laura is still about the same. Doesn't talk unless talked to, can walk with the aid of a walker, still gets confused, but still needs all the prayers she can get. I'm sure this is a timely process, so with time and God's power of healing, she will be back to 100% before we know it. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!!!!!
As for Dakota, he had his stem cell transplant last week and has been in isolation since then. The Dr.'s were actually waiting on something to go wrong, because they needed something wrong to know that the stem cell is working. He started with a low grade fever on Thurs. and it went up to 103 and stayed there all day Friday and he does have a blood infection that they are working on right now!!! PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!!
Please keep praying that the Lord will work his miracles on these two people that mean the world to me!!! As most of you all know...Laura is ALL I have left as far as my immediate family, but thank God I have her extended family and my girls. Lord knows where I would be without them!!!!!!!
Thank you to all that have asked about them individually and please keep those emails coming!!! My email is minihaha21@yahoo.com for the ones that don't have it and might want it and my cell is 432-889-6779.
Love, Prayers, Hope and Peace to you all.
God bless you.

Monday update
Those of you reading this website may remember early on I posted this scripture:
Psalms 126: 5-6 "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him." Well, just let me say Sunday Morning our church fellowship had a few more tears and much joy when Tyler and Tonya came through the church doors. We continue to believe there will be a large harvest from the tears that have been sown. God bless each of you who joined us with tears and prayers. God is good and we BLESS HIS NAME!
Both Tyler and Trey had appointments with the burn Drs. today. Trey was dismissed. They said his head looked really good. He is still having problems with a stiff neck causing him problems with sleeping. The Dr. gave him a muscle relaxer. Tyler has a secondary infection so PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR COMPLETE HEALING for both boys. Tyler has to go back in 10 days. Trey has an appointment with the eye Dr. on Tuesday. Tyler goes back to see his orthopedic Dr. on Wednesday.
I ask Tonya how the meals were going and if we needed to make any changes and she said it had been wonderful and to thank everyone for all the wonderful food. I heard Tyler whined until someone (Lisa) cooked him fried squash, potatoes, onions. He still knows how to get what he wants. LOL We still have about 5 days in August to cover the meals through Aug. 15th. So, those of you who were waiting can go ahead and fill in those days. This is a wonderful program and has been so easy to manage. Thanks again to everyone who went to the site and signed up.

Pictures of Tyler's Homecoming
here is a link to Tonya's shutterfly account!
I just want to say that I am so blessed to witness God's mighty hand over the last two months... WOW!
Amazing isn't it!
Well, don't delete this bookmark yet because there is still more story to tell...
Ronda and Cindy are supposed to be writing down all the little miracles...
Tyler and Trey aren't back on their horses yet, and the stories of those we've "adopted" along the way haven't been concluded...
You who prayed, fasted, cried, and served this family, YOU are the salt of the earth. You are a big part of this story. You are a big reason we are happy with the outcome today...
God used this wreck...
God used you...
God used us...
God worked through everyone...
God hand picked their medical care-givers...
God used every detail of this story for His Glory...
HE gets all the credit.
God has a bigger plan in mind and I am sure we won't know the full extent until we are with Jesus in eternity!

Cindy posted a comment and I wanted everyone to read it so I have moved it to the main blog:
To all of you who have posted a comment, and to those who have tried and couldn't...thank you so much. Words cannot express how much this meant to us. It was something we could all look forward to each day. We shared many tears and laughs as we heard from so many of you. To Wes, Kacy, and Wilma, thank you for the time it took to post each day. It has indeed been a tremendous blessing to our entire family. Our God is an awesome God, and He has blessed us with a beautiful earthly family in addition to the family of God! May He richly bless all of you for your love and prayers! Larry and Cindy
Cindy also said that Tyler had a pretty good day today. She stayed with him while Tonya took Trevor to the Dr. Trevor is doing very good...he has gained over a pound and he got 4 shots. Cindy ask me to tell you how much they appreciated the meals. She said it takes so much time with Tyler...washing towels, sheets, etc. not to mention the daily laundry for 6 people including a baby. Cindy said even though she had been there to help some she didn't realize what Tonya was having to do. So thanks to all of you who have brought food. It has been wonderful. and helps more than you can imagine .
Cheney: Ronda called and the Dr. called with the results of Cheney's biopsy. 3 of the 4 came back just fine but one was questionable. They really don't know what that means but they are going to watch and check her regularly and go back in a month. Pray that whatever the problem God has healed it.

What an amazing group of people reading this blog and befriending the Thompson families. July meals have been filled! Praise God! I am hoping to do meals at least through the middle of August. I know several have said they were waiting to fill in the gaps. Thank you one and all for helping with the meals, mowing the yards, praying and just being there for support. They continually say to Thank You all.
I went out to see Tyler and he looks so good at least as good as he ever did. LOL Actually his entire body with the exception of his head has been affected by the accident. He is still in a lot of pain. They took a very large strip of skin from his calf up to his butt and that is giving him a lot of pain. He has an amazing attitude and was laughing and joking but occasionally I could see him grimace. He is very happy to be home. Trevor has grown so much and is as cute as pie. He has a Dr. appointment Thursday so Cindy will be babysitting Tyler while Tonya takes Trevor to the Dr.
CHENEY: The Dr. did not find anything with Cheney's colonoscopy. He did a biopsy and should have some results back by Friday. She did really good through it all. They said when she woke up she wanted a hamburger and choc-choc milk. Praise the Lord.

Monday update
Tyler had a pretty rough day yesterday (Sunday) but a better day today. Home Health Nurses came and they are doing a great job. It took them most all morning to bathe and dress his wounds. Frank and Janice Dutton brought lunch and Tonya said, "Oh, my that was so nice, I don't know what I would have done if they hadn't". So thanks to all of you who have gone online to sign up to bring food. I may have to go out and sample some of it. (Laughing) If you have signed up to take food it will probably be better for lunch but if that isn't convenient just let Tonya know when to expect the meal.
Trey, Ronda and the girls are in Dallas. They have seen the Dr. and he thinks Cheney just has some little polyps. They are going to do a colonoscopy tomorrow. Please pray for Cheney and for all of them. She is only 3 and can't have food or anything to drink and will have to take the medicine to clean her out tonight. They did feel pretty good about the Dr. Pray that they can take care of any problem they find.

NEW PRAYER REQUEST
Trey and Ronda are driving to Dallas today to take Chaney to a Pediatric Specialist. Chaney is their 3 year old and she has been having colon problems for over a year and their Dr. just thought she should be seen by a specialist. Ronda ask that we pray there is nothing serious and they can find the problem with the bleeding.
Tyler is sooo happy to be home and I understand he even took in some fireworks on Friday. Praise God for his many miracles. I was just reminded this week how we pray and pray and so many times when we get answers we forget to Thanks God. So today, I am asking all of you who have been praying so diligently for the Thompson boys to spend some time just praising and thanking God for HIS MERCY AND GRACE AND HOW HE HAS BLESS US ALL DURING THE PAST 7 WEEKS.
Many of you have called and some of you have set up a day to take food. Thank you so much. Tyler and Trey both have Dr. appointments next week so they do not need food on the 14th.

Tyler and Tonya are celebrating their FREEDOM as they head home. Tyler was dismissed from the hospital about 2:00 and they headed home to Munday. HIP HIP HOORAY! Tyler we are so happy to hear the good news.
Larry, Cindy, Gary and Lisa have gone to Colorado Springs for the "Ride For The Brand" Rodeo and the auction that is being held to raise funds for Tyler, Trey and Keith for their hospital expense.

Wednesday Noon
I just talked to Cindy and she said Tyler had a good night and was doing pretty good today. He did throw up but it was because they gave him pain medicine on an empty stomach. The Doctors will look at the grafts on Friday and decide what his future treatment will be. This is definitely a good report. Praise God!
I talked to Trey on Monday and he said he planned to help Tyler with his rehab when he gets home. Trey said Tyler will need a lot of therapy after he gets home. With 4 children we are thinking Tonya is going to need a lot of help also. We are making plans for meals for up to 6 weeks and will be posting something on that in the near future. We have found a computer program that will help us organize meals easily so if you would like to help with that just email me (Wilma at wwhogan2@yahoo.com) and I will get you the information to get on the calander or check back to the blog in a few days.

Final Sugery Report
Cindy called and said that Tyler is in recovery...
Paula was a great liaison for the family this go-round. She took Tyler into the holding room and allowed the family to go with him. She also went in and out of surgery and came and reported to them when it was over. She obviously is a great source of encouragement to the whole family.
They took skin from his right leg (the broken one) from his thigh all the way down to the calf. They covered his bad places on his elbow, back, and side. This will be VERY painful and in fact, Cindy said that he is already in a lot of pain and hopes that they will give him something for it.
They will have to leave the dressing on until Friday when they check it. Meanwhile, he will go back to step-down in the burn unit ...
Pray for Tyler NOW because he is in excruciating pain and will be for a little while.
TREY: Good report. He went fishing yesterday and today went to Aspermont with Keith to do something with horses( you can tell I know nothing about ranching...) We are so glad to see Trey slowly getting back to his regular life!
